Hi there
Here we are again at the start of the new season, well almost anyway. The AGM once again was held and the various motions were passed albeit with a disappointing turnout. I am though delighted that we had three volunteers come forward and offered to join the committee. They are Audrey Yellowlees, David Little and Roman Last. They are very welcome additions.
We must all give Liz Thomson a vote of thanks for her work in the garden and I must draw your attention to Roman Last's clearance of the front and of course to the old geezers that trekked to the dump with all the rubbish that he cleared. David Christie and some other elderly person. Whilst on the subject I am sure that you will agree that after the winter building work on the new lights there is some tidying up required. General cleaning around the courts - if we don't move the rubbish off the courts we invite moss etc to grow. The clubhouse is in need of some loving care and attention. The lower half required painting 6/8 volunteers with rollers can do this in a couple of hours, all materials provided. CAN YOU HELP? The outside has become badly weathered over the winter and requires painting. A few hours work by a few volunteers would work wonders. We will be asking John to once again trim the hedges before they become a major problem. Members to remove the cuttings to the dump. WE DO NEED YOUR INTEREST AND YOUR HELP ... PLEASE!!! Friday night social tennis complete with the odd glass of wine will start up again after the Easter Hols. It's meant to be fun so turn up and enjoy. Watch the board / website for the date of the first tournament - should be Friday April 20th Teams entered for 2008 are Ladies capt Phyllis Smith - practice night Monday - all players welcome Have a nice time, try and play more tennis and above all enjoy !!
