Welcome to the 2011 season


Welcome to the 2011 season and Perth Tennis Club.  The club was founded in 1881 and is older than Wimbledon.  Please look around our website for further information of things happening and Perth Tennis Club or why not contact us?  Download our information leaflet.

The club is open all year round for anyone interested in playing tennis. Membership packages are available whilst a pay and play policy is available for visitors. We have four all-weather courts with the latest rubberized technology and floodlights, a squash court, snooker room and table tennis facilities.

                                                         

 



Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting of Perth Tennis Club was be held on Sunday 6 November 2011 at 3.00pm in the clubhouse in Hay Street.  A copy of the agenda for the meeting is available here.  Prior to the AGM there was a social tournament.

The club is delighted to welcome Derek Brown as the new President together with the new Trustees in Lorraine Hay as Secretary and Norrie Stewart as Treasurer.  Also elected to the Management Committee were Allan Hay, Irene Rixson, Jean Morgan, Audrey Paton, Kevin Gillespie and Pete Guthrie.


Junior Championships

The Junior Championships took place on Saturday 1 October 2011 with competitions for U-8, U-12 and U-16 in singles and doubles.  Further information is on the Championship page.





Coach - Colin Hanbidge

Club members are disappointed that the club coach, Colin Hanbidge, left the club in early September.  Details of the new coaching programme will be announced in due course.


Finals Day

The Senior Club Championships Finals took place on Sunday 28 August 2011 starting at 12.30pm with the Men's Final scheduled for 2.00pm.  Despite the cold and blustery conditions the Finals day was a great success with members supporting the players and enjoying the buffet which was served during the afternoon.

Social Tennis Tournament - in aid of Breast Cancer Research

The club will be holding a social tennis tournament with lots of other competitions in the afternoon of Sunday 21 August 2011 in aid of Breast Cancer. 








Finalists in the Breast Cancer event - with winners, Norrie Stewart and Morag Nash holding the Wilson salvers.


Junior Matchplay - 12 August

Following on from the success of the last match play session at the club Colin has organised another event for this Friday morning (12th August) between 09.30am and 12 noon.

Match play will be for the juniors who have the ability to play a match and there will be mini play for the younger members to which parents are invited to join in on court with their children.

Please come along and join in. I hope it is as much fun as the last time.


Membership subscriptions for 2011 - reductions from July 2011

New members are very welcome - from July 2011 the cost of the membership has reduced to £100 for adults and £35 for those at secondary school.  For those at primary school, membership is still only £20 until March 2012. The membership form for the 2011 season is available here.

New Members Coaching

The tennis coaching for adults with our Head Coach, Colin Hanbidge, in April/May 2011 was very successful.  It is intended to run these sessions again in late August and September on Tuesdays between 7.00pm and 8.00pm.  The fee will be £20.00 for eight sessions and if you join, the £20.00 will be refunded from your membership fee!

Junior Coaching

Coaching on a Saturday and Sunday will start again after the school holidays.

Mini Junior Coaching for RED and ORANGE is on every Saturday between 1.00pm and 3.00pm.

Junior Coaching for GREEN and YELLOW (age 10 years and upwards) is on every Sunday between 3.00pm and 5.00pm.
