Welcome to Perth Tennis Club

The club is open all year round for anyone interested in playing tennis. Membership packages are available, whilst a pay and play policy is available for visitors. We have four all-weather courts with the latest rubberized technology and floodlights, a squash court, snooker room and table tennis facilities.

News from Club President, Derek Brown:

I am pleased to advise that the Perth Tennis Club Committee has engaged Craig Cameron as our new Coach with effect from 1 April 2012.  Many of you will know Craig and be aware of his previous association with Perth Tennis Club.  For those that don’t know Craig he is currently responsible for all tennis development at Craigie Tennis Centre.  Craig is fully committed to Perth Tennis Club and has a very deep loyalty to the Club.  As a direct result of this he will relocate his existing operation to our Club.  He has built up a membership in excess of 200 people (mainly juniors) over the last 15 months.

We have held extensive discussions with Craig over the past few months to iron out any relationship issues that might have existed and we are all convinced that this appointment is a solid building block on which to base the future development of the Club.  We have found Craig to be very professional in his approach to the discussions and is clearly focussed and ambitious in his plans to provide the best Coaching Program that the Committee want to offer to our Members.

I have listed below some of the benefits that we believe we will receive as a result of this appointment

1.    PTC will have a Coach who is now recognised throughout Tennis in Scotland as being one of the most successful Coaches and having one of the best Clubs in the Country (Craigie were one of three Tennis Clubs in     Scotland shortlisted for Club of the Year 2011).

2.    Our Club will have more of a buzz about it – and we’ll all be able to play more tennis.

3.    We will have junior teams competing at a high level again.

4.    Our adults teams will have more members to pull on and will hopefully be more successful than in previous years.

5.    We will have more people interested in joining our Committee and helping run the club – (Parents of Craigie juniors/Adult Members and have expressed this to Craig)

6.    Our increasing membership will open the way for us to obtain grants for new tennis activities and also court replacement.

7.    Our overall finances will be improved.

8.    The joining of the two clubs will enable us to run more and better attended events (tennis and charity)

9.    Through our Coach we will be delivering a nationally recognised coaching program.

I would ask that all members join me in welcoming Craig and also any Craigie members to Perth Tennis Club and that we all work together to develop a positive future for our Club.

Now that our courts have been cleaned and we have secured a Coach for our club the Committee will be looking to provide more opportunities for our Members to play social tennis.  You will be receiving more information on this very soon.

Thank you to everyone for your continued support.

Best Regards

Derek Brown
